Toyota Unveils 2026 bZ Woodland: A Rugged Electric SUV Built for Adventure

Toyota has expanded its electric vehicle lineup with the 2026 bZ Woodland, a rugged, off-road-ready SUV designed for outdoor enthusiasts. Set to hit the market in early 2026, this new model combines Toyota’s EV technology with adventure-focused features, marking a bold step into the growing electric adventure vehicle segment.

Equipped with a 74.7 kWh battery, the bZ Woodland offers an estimated 260 miles of range, slightly less than the standard bZ’s 303 miles due to its heavier off-road build. It features a NACS charging port (Tesla’s standard), allowing access to over 15,000 Tesla Superchargers in North America. A DC fast charge can replenish the battery from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes, while battery pre-conditioning ensures optimal charging in cold weather.

The bZ Woodland stands out with its aggressive styling, including black body cladding, front/rear skid plates, and standard roof rails for extra cargo flexibility. At 8.3 inches of ground clearance, it outperforms rivals like the Ford Mustang Mach-E (5.7 inches) and Hyundai Ioniq 5 (6.1 inches), making it better suited for rough terrain. The SUV is nearly 6 inches longer than the standard bZ, offering over 30 cubic feet of cargo space-ideal for gear-heavy trips.

Expected to start around $50,000, the bZ Woodland will debut in early 2026 as a single trim with optional add-ons. It joins Toyota’s growing EV lineup, which includes 21 electrified models, from hybrids to fuel-cell vehicles.
