Mahindra Sets New Monthly Highs for BE 6 and XEV 9e in May XEV9E

Mahindra & Mahindra reached its highest-ever monthly production and wholesales for its electric-origin SUVs—the BE 6 and XEV 9e in May 2025. The company dispatched over 9,300 units to dealers this month, marking a strong start to the year’s EV journey.

With total EV retail sales reaching 9,307 units year-to-date, Mahindra holds an approximate 15% share of India’s growing EV market, closing the gap with rivals like Tata Motors.

The surge is complemented by impressive retail performance, with over 30,000 bookings recorded on the first day of launch. Mahindra plans to introduce more accessible variants featuring a 59 kWh battery, which could further boost sales in the coming months.

These SUVs are built on Mahindra’s INGLO platform. The BE 6 is priced from ₹18.90 lakh, while the XEV 9e starts around ₹21.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Both offer ranges exceeding 500 km under the automaker’s internal test cycles. Early safety and delivery data also reflect strong customer interest and confidence.

Mahindra aims for EVs to account for at least 20% of its SUV sales by 2027. To meet this goal, it has planned a ₹12,000 crore investment in its EV unit by March 2027. The company also aims to achieve a production capacity of 200,000 EV units annually by March 2026.

With early momentum from BE 6 and XEV 9e, including combined sales of over 10,000 units in just 70 days post-launch, Mahindra is accelerating its EV play and edging closer to becoming a major challenger in India’s electric SUV market.
