Jeep Compass EV Spotted Testing: All-Electric SUV Gears Up for Global Launch with Two Battery Options Jeep scaled

The upcoming Jeep Compass EV, recently spotted testing in Italy, marks a significant step in Jeep’s electrification journey. Set to debut globally later this year, this model transitions from the FCA-era platform to Stellantis’ advanced STLA Medium architecture, designed to support a variety of powertrains, including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric configurations.

Battery Options and Performance

While Jeep has not officially confirmed specific powertrain details, reports suggest that the Compass EV will offer two battery options: a 73 kWh standard pack and a larger 97 kWh pack. The top-tier variant is expected to feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, delivering approximately 325 PS (about 320 hp).

This aligns with the capabilities of the STLA Medium platform, which supports power outputs ranging from 160 kW (214 hp) to 285 kW (382 hp) and offers potential ranges exceeding 700 km (435 miles) under the WLTP cycle.

Design and Features

Spy shots reveal that the Compass EV retains Jeep’s signature design elements, such as the seven-slot grille and squared wheel arches, while introducing modern touches like sleek LED headlights and a reworked rear with C-shaped LED taillights.

The roofline appears flatter compared to the current model, contributing to a more muscular silhouette. Inside, the Compass EV is anticipated to feature a redesigned center console, updated upholstery with contrast stitching, and enhanced ambient lighting, aiming to elevate the overall cabin experience.

Production and Market Outlook

Production of the new-generation Compass is set to commence later this year at Stellantis’ plant in Melfi, Italy, with a European launch planned soon after.

While the Compass EV is confirmed for European markets, its availability in other regions, including India, remains uncertain. Currently, India serves as the production hub for the existing Compass model for right-hand-drive markets
