Indofast & Motovolt Launch Battery-Swappable MVS7 Electric Scooter

Indofast Energy (a JV between Indian Oil and Sun Mobility) has partnered with Motovolt Mobility to launch the MVS7 electric scooter equipped with battery-swapping technology.

This initiative aims to reduce upfront costs and ease range concerns through a “Battery‑as‑a‑Service” model. Customers can purchase the scooter without the battery and swap it at Indofast’s QIS stations across 23+ cities with over 900 swap points, enabling fast battery replacement rather than waiting to charge.

The MVS7 is a multi-utility scooter, suitable for both personal and commercial use. It reaches a top speed of 50 km/h, offers a range of 80–85 km, features a 2.5 kW BLDC motor with 120 Nm torque, and supports five riding modes. The scooter has a steel frame, 150 L storage, and can carry up to 150 kg.

Indofast aims to sell about 20,000 units to fleets and 5,000 units to consumers over the next year. Motovolt is expanding dealerships in Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai. A lifetime battery warranty is also included to give users peace of mind
