In a significant push toward sustainable urban logistics, Indofast Energy and EVeez have announced a partnership to deploy 20,000 electric bikes across key Indian cities over the next 24 months. Targeting Tier I and II cities such as Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Vijayawada, the initiative aims to enhance last-mile delivery efficiency for e-commerce, food delivery, and quick commerce sectors while accelerating India’s transition to electric mobility.

Strategic Partnership and Infrastructure Expansion

The collaboration leverages Indofast Energy’s battery-swapping infrastructure, which currently supports over 40,000 daily swaps across 900 stations nationwide.

As a joint venture between Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and SUN Mobility, Indofast operates on an OEM-agnostic Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, enabling compatibility with two- and three-wheelers from any manufacturer.

This flexibility allows delivery fleets and retail users to access swapping stations, seamlessly reducing downtime and operational costs.

EVeez, a mobility solutions provider, contributes its subscription-based e-bike fleet, currently numbering 7,000 across nine cities, to scale operations in emerging urban centers. The expanded network will cater to gig workers in delivery services, offering a cost-effective alternative to traditional fuel-based vehicles.

Impact on Last-Mile Delivery and Gig Economy

By integrating battery-swapping infrastructure into high-demand regions, the partnership addresses critical barriers to EV adoption, such as charging time and upfront costs.
