Belrise Industries to Launch EV Hub Motor and Charger Plant in Pune with Chinese Collaboration Belrise

Belrise Industries Ltd., a leading Indian automotive components manufacturer, is set to establish a new electric vehicle (EV) hub motor and charger manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra. This move is part of the company’s expansion strategy into the EV powertrain segment.

The Pune plant is expected to commence operations in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2026. It will focus on producing hub motors and chargers for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers. This initiative marks Belrise’s transition from traditional mechanical systems to electromechanical components, aligning with the evolving automotive industry trends.

To support this venture, Belrise has entered into a technology partnership with a prominent Chinese manufacturer. This collaboration aims to bring localized and cost-effective hub motor solutions tailored for Indian conditions, facilitating a quicker and more efficient entry into the EV market.

In addition to the Pune facility, Belrise plans to set up two new plants in Chennai dedicated to manufacturing metal components. These expansions are part of the company’s broader plan to increase its presence in the EV sector. Belrise aims to enhance its contribution to electric two-wheelers by increasing its content per vehicle from the current 10–15% to 20–25%. This will be achieved by diversifying into proprietary EV components such as motors, motor controllers, and chargers.

Established in 1996, Belrise operates 17 production sites across India, supplying over 1,000 different components to various vehicle segments, including two-wheelers, three-wheelers, passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and agricultural vehicles. The company serves 29 original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), including Jaguar Land Rover, Royal Enfield, Hero MotoCorp, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, and Bajaj Auto.

To finance its expansion plans and reduce debt, Belrise is preparing for a ₹2,150 crore initial public offering (IPO), scheduled to launch on May 21, 2025. The IPO will include a new issue of shares, with a face value of ₹5 and a pricing range set at ₹85 to ₹90 per equity share.
