Bajaj Auto Allocates ₹420 Crore for Electric Vehicle Expansion Bajaj

Bajaj Auto has committed ₹420 crore from its ₹700 crore capital expenditure for the fiscal year towards electric vehicle (EV) development. This allocation underscores the company’s focus on strengthening its position in the EV market.

In the previous fiscal year, Bajaj Auto’s EV market share increased from 11% to 20%. The company’s electric scooter, Chetak, recorded sales of 2,30,761 units, making it the top-selling electric scooter in the fourth quarter of FY25.

Bajaj Auto has also introduced the GoGo P7012, an electric three-wheeler designed for urban and semi-urban markets.This vehicle features LED lighting, Hill Hold Assist, and a full metal body.

The company’s internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycle brands, including Triumph and KTM, continue to perform well, contributing to a record increase in motorcycle registrations.

With this investment, Bajaj Auto aims to enhance its offerings in the electric vehicle segment while maintaining its presence in the traditional motorcycle market.
