Ather Introduces Rizta Family Scooter Across India

Ather Energy has launched the Rizta, branded as its first family-oriented electric scooter, across India. The Rizta comes in two variants—Rizta S with a 2.9 kWh battery and Rizta Z with a larger 3.7 kWh battery—offering a range of approximately 123 km and 160 km respectively on a full charge.

The scooter features an extra-long seat and a wide floorboard to ensure comfort for riders and pillions. It offers up to 56 L of storage (34 L under seat and 22 L frunk), along with a multi-purpose charger socket inside the boot.

Key ride-assist features include MagicTwist, AutoHold, and Reverse Mode. Safety tech includes SkidControl traction control, FallSafe, and Emergency Stop Signal, while the Rizta is equipped with a 7-inch TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, USB charging, and Ather’s Atherstack6 software.

The scooter’s top speed is rated at 80 km/h, and it is built on the same platform as the Ather 450 series, with a low center of gravity and balanced weight for stable handling.

Since its launch in April 2024 at an ex-showroom price of ₹1.09 lakh in Bengaluru, Rizta has become Ather’s best-selling model. It sold over 100,000 units in its first year, becoming the fastest-selling product in the company’s lineup and accounting for nearly 60% of sales in April 2025.

Ather plans to expand its network from 351 to 700 retail outlets by March 2026, driven largely by Rizta’s popularity. The company also reported a narrowing loss in Q4 FY25 thanks to strong Rizta sales and sees the scooter as key to national growth as it enters northern and western markets.

Overall, the Ather Rizta delivers practical family-focused design, tech-rich features, and strong market demand, signaling Ather’s shift from niche performance scooters to mainstream adoption in India’s EV market.
