GreenCell Mobility Secures Major Order for 1,200+ Electric Buses Under PM E-Bus Sewa Scheme Green Cell Mobility

GreenCell Mobility has secured a landmark order for more than 1,200 electric buses under the Government of India’s PM E-Bus Sewa Scheme. This includes 472 Eicher buses for six cities in Madhya Pradesh and 750 buses for 11 cities in Andhra Pradesh. The deal builds on GreenCell’s existing fleet of 900 buses in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra and marks a major step in scaling zero-emission public transport nationwide.

“This marks a key milestone in our mission to redefine mass transit through zero-emission buses,” said Devndra Chawla, MD & CEO of GreenCell Mobility. He added that the company will leverage strategic financing models and dependable operations to support state governments in their clean transport goals.

GreenCell Mobility won a Letter of Award (LoA) from Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) for 472 Eicher electric buses to be deployed in six Madhya Pradesh cities under a partnership with VE Commercial Vehicles.

In Andhra Pradesh, GreenCell will supply 750 electric buses through its tie-up with Pinnacle Mobility Solutions (EKA Mobility)

The PM E-Bus Sewa Scheme aims to deploy 10,000 electric buses across India as part of the central government’s clean transport push . In FY25, CESL floated a tender for 4,588 buses under this scheme, of which GreenCell’s order represents one of the largest single allocations.

Before this order, GreenCell operated about 900 electric buses in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. With the new 1,222+ buses, the company’s total fleet will exceed 2,100 vehicles, strengthening its presence in four states .

The expanded fleet will serve daily commuters in 17 cities across four states, reducing pollution and operating costs. The project aligns with India’s target of net-zero carbon emissions in the transport sector by 2030
